the McLaren F1
Top tier Legend - the McLaren F1! As we know, each F1 has a story. Whether it is a racing history, an ownership history or a build history. Chassis 022 is no exception. It was ordered by Thomas Bscher in 1994. You may know the name, as Bscher was not only responsible for convincing Ron Dennis to build the first F1 GTR, he went on to race that GTR to several wins, including winning the Global & European GT Championships. Oh and Bscher ultimately went on to head Bugatti and was responsible for the development of the Veyron. As for the car itself, it started life finished in Genesis Dark Blue. It had green interior, with a yellow insert in the driver's seat. This F1 wasn't a garage queen either. Bscher frequently commuted with it, being said that he routinely surpassed 200mph on the Autobahn. He notoriously drove it hard. In 2003, it was sold to Mike Collier who sent it back to the factory for a $300k restoration. The car's finished was changed to the green you see here and had tan interior put in. A truly classic combination. In 2008, Collier founded the Revs Institute in Naples, FL to display some of the finest cars in the world. Chassis 022 being one of them.
